Cria is a luxurious yarn made from 100% baby alpaca, a unique fiber with special qualities. It’s actually warmer than wool because the fibers are hollow. This makes it lighter and airier, with an elegant drape.
Cria is best suited for gentle, close to the skin garments such as hats, scarves, cowls, and luxurious sweaters.

Knitting Gauge
19-22 stitches = 4 inches in stockinette stitch on sizes US 6 – 8 (4.0-5.0 mm) knitting needles
Crochet Gauge
12-13 stitches = 4 inches in single crochet on sizes US 7 – I/9 (4.5-5.5 mm) crochet hook
Because our yarns are made using natural fibers, they work well for a wide range of gauges. As always, be sure to gauge swatch to assure proper size of your finished item.
Cria is made using natural, non-superwash baby alpaca. Because of this, special care is necessary when washing.
Hand-wash only in lukewarm water using a mild soap. Lay flat to dry. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron.
