Lana is made from highland wool — a unique cross of Corriedale and local highland sheep. These sheep are bred to be well suited for the harsh climate of the highlands and are necessary to the communities living in remote regions of the Andes Mountains.
Because the wool was raised and bred to handle this dramatic climate, Lana is durable, warm, and moisture wicking. These properties make this yarn ideal for outdoor garments such as mittens, hats, scarves, and heavier sweaters. Lana also works great for felted projects.
